This is the 6th vee-dub in our garage. A 1967 splitty. After a long wait, finally, I got one. Soon to be restored... Though this is my second Splitty.
The first one was about 20 years ago that I never got the chance to restore due to documentation and financial issues..

Gotta love a '67. need more pics of bus. The upper vents? like Australian, are all buses to your part of the world like that? Nice bus , good home...your kids eyes are freaking me out a bit though.

Thanks a lot buddies. We are currently rebuilding the engine. Although when we opened the engine's case, it was a mess, it has three sleeves on the main bearing. So I had to look for a better engine. I found a late bus AS21 case, we are currently rebuilding the engine.

This is the AS21 engine we got which was kept for quite a few years in a covered storage warehouse away from the elements. It has the standard crank shaft bearings and all. Still a good case, though.

I am now fixing the bus and applying paint.. Well, at least during the weekends only....

I guess, I can finish painting our bus in one year...

The split i boght is an ii window model with louvers near the roof line. This know that this is for panel type2. But was there an 11 window bus with louvers near the roof line?

Yes, I know. In fact, I still need to look for front seats. And chances are, another baywindow front seats will be found. There are only a few splitty buses here in the Philippines. So, I guess, looking for these correct seats will be a challenge to me..

I need help everyone. When I bought my split, the accelarator cable and pedal and shifter lever and the rod underneath were missing. Hence, I have no way of knowing now now the appearance of these underneath the split. I have checked some pics on the internet, however, i have found a handful, unfortunately these pictures are blurred.

If you can help me guys, can you please post some pictures of the set up of the accelarator cable and the shifting rod that is directly under neath the front nose of the split bus so that I can use those pictures as my basis to fabricate the same during this coming weekend.

I also need some pictures of the locaiton of the accelarator pedal particularly the hole provision for the rod going down to the "L" link underneath.

BTW, the engine is running now and I front suspensions and brakes are now fixed and working. The only missing essential parts are the accelarator and shifter. Thereupon, I can really drive the split..so excited to drive it on the road.

I don't know where you searched, but if you search this site, you will find hundreds of photos showing the accelerator cable linkage and shift rod configuration.

I recently installed the Fuchs on the bus. I removed it from my country buggy. I had the rear drums drilled to accept studs and the center hubs were modified to accommodate the Fuchs center hub and bolt patters. Although I still used the adapters up front. With how the front fuchs looks, I guess I also have to have the front drums modified and re-stud to accept the fuchs sans adapters.

By the way, we have a cool road test ran of our split. So so awesome and cool..

obviously it did come with an original color, that should always be a consideration. i personally like colors to kind of match the vintage of the vehicle. I like Titian Red and Beige Grey for the later ones

Thanks a lot buddies for these comments. Woody, I intent to paint Splitty the vintage scheme colors, and the Fuchs will remain there for a longer time. Although I can install the stock wheels in the future to give it a classic stance. And, everyone is write, since the first day I bought Splitty, the Fucks that was installed on my Country Buggy has to give way and I never stopped thinking and visualizing until the time I installed the Fuchs. It really look awesome...

Although, I have a question for you buddies.. Is it okay to keep the stock stance or go on the custom side by giving Splitty a lower stance? I really need to know your inputs because the ride height is crucial on giving the Fuchs a more aggressive and cool appeal..
