Although I have videos of the split while it was being drive which were taken a few week ago. Its so cool to drive splitty.

Good job, getting your hands dirty, well I guess from your pics your clothes and hair and everything else as well!

It's awesome that you have just decided to dive in and learn as you go and get advice from those that have went down this road as well. I too do as much of my own work as possible for the enjoyment and personal satisfaction.

The fact that you are a lawyer and do all this yourself makes it all that more awesome. From the experience I have from professional type people they would rather pay someone else to do all the work then stand at the car show and get the trophey. I would rather see a car with a few waves in a panel here and there and know that the owner put in the blood sweat and tears.

Keep up the effort, threads like this one are my favorite and you inspire me to get on my bus as soon as the weather allows it here.

It is really a relief after I have applied the primer and as I see is there more portions to be fixed. It is cool fixing it and I want it to be detailed as possible. It really a relief seeing splitty everyday in our garage getting better each weekend. I can't wait to see the bus finished..
So nice to see that I am moving on and looking forward to another phase of the project. I will do this slowly but surely. Once it's done, there is no turning back. Thanks..

It the primer that I applied. My initial plan is to paint it either chestnut brown and sealing wax red or cream and sealing wax red. For now I prefer the latter color combinations.

I hope to finish it on time, buddy...

After attending a court hearing this morning, I went to a fellow vee-dud buddy, Jimmy, at his shop, to get the hatch of the Split to which I had the bottom portion thereof repaired again.

It was not in good shape when I got the bus. Not it pretty much better. There you go, right at the back of my Isuzu Trooper:

Only a few in the trooper there are more case folders at home, bay window bus at the attic and at the office. I usually hunt ver dubs And Vw parts after court hearings that is if no other works. Hahaha. I hope to fix the split this weekend because my sister in law arrived here from California on
Vacation. And we have to tour her around here..

I installed the hatch on the split and it fits better now and it's ready for the paint.

Still long way to go. I sanded the split this weekend.I had no sufficient time to do other works, the schedule is so hard, Me and my wife ahd to bring the kids to the malls..

Well,the panels, roof and every surface needs to the sanded some more..

I know that there are sellers of used moldings but it might be hard for you to find them in the Philippines, buddy. The long piece is too long to be shipped straight, so no matter where you get it from, it is going to have to be rolled up. I have heard (but do not know firsthand) that it is very hard to get the long piece flat again after it has been rolled up.

I have been asking my vw buddies here if someone is selling the deluxe trim here. Still no luck. But still hoping I can get one here otherwise I have to order a set abroad... Thanks buddy.
