@Espinosa: Oh, I just posted in Finnish! Because I´m originally from Finland, too!

In short: I´m excited about the following changes... :D

I think it was on Oldbug.com, they made a Heb out of an early 60's bug and it turned out great, youre's is lookin pretty sweet too.

Yes, I know Randy Carlson and have been in contact with him about his Heb quite a while ago. It too was a pretty rough project from the start...

A short update. I have not had time to visit The Samba for a while.
Since last time I have now installed the double fuellines for the K-Jet I'm installing in it.

I had to replace the framehead on the original '52 floorpan because it was totally crapped... So I decided to install the fuellines inside the tunnel as the originals at the same time. As soon as I get the pan together and all suspension parts installed I will take some pics of it.

Then I can place the body back on its original pan again. 8)

What year body is that built on? Looks like 60 - 62 ish? It's a hell of a job! :)

Hebster52 Tue Nov 30, 2004 2:51 am

It's based on the 1952 body with some parts from one -63 (the heaterchannels) and one -65 body (rear sidepanels and frontquarterpanels)....

The floorpanel is from the same 1952 as the remains of the body.

Brought it out because I needed to use the -63 pan that it is sitting on to make a jig for framehead replacement. I needed that for the original -52 pan that The Hebster will get back on soon.

Here it sits in the middle of the blizzard...

That's exactly what I did to my model. I took the dremel and ground off the bottom after notching out the seats and a few other interior parts.
It still rolls perfectly. I'm going to try and get the rear lower and still allow it to roll.

A couple of years back someone took a fake heb to the Phx. bug-o-rama that looked halfway decent.

Hebster52 Tue Jan 11, 2005 2:40 am

I guess that was Randy Carlson with this:

It is a very nice repro too!

So, Finally I have some good news! I got the Hebster's original 1952 chassie back together and rolling.

Here fitted with slightly widened stock 15 front wheels and 205/55's on 6.5x16 in rear wheels. :D

And Finally one peek into my garage after the body and chassie have joined together again. Now I will weld the floopanhalves and start working on the remaining bodywork. :D

Hebster52 Tue Aug 16, 2005 8:43 am

I'm using a stock vert frame that I shorten and modify to get the wanted look on it. :D
