That's what I figured. I'm going to give it a go tomorrow. Today was sea foam day....the smoke is amaizing.

SeaFoam works suprisingly well at getting all that carbon buildup out of the motor. I use it in my Jeep that burns a lot of oil to keep it cleaned out until the day comes that I rebuild that motor.

Well...I did it.

They were all set to atmost 1/4 past lash except one. The last one was flat as a pancake...tons of spring. I set it full open and ran it for a few seconds to get some pressure in it. I set them all to 1.5 turns past lash. I split the difference between what you guys said and What Steve long recommended which was 2. Now why doesn't the lifter fully pump up to its full length under oil pressure? I'm going to be changing my rockers out for the same ratio ones. How can I make sure my lifters are fully pumped to the limit when I put the new rockers on? Afterwards...nice and quiet...better than when I first brought it home.
