View original topic: Are Bosch W10AC plugs too hot for street use?

Local parts shop had no NGK B5HS plugs so they gave me Bosch W10AC. I checked the heat range chart and they are equal to a NGK 2. Is this too hot a plug to run on the street in a 2054cc with dual 40IDFs? If they are fine to run, would i have to re-jet the carbs to allow for the extra heat?

I've never seen anyone using those, I wouldn't want to be the guinea pig

just find the right plugs

stock bug plug is w8ac...that's 2 steps hotter ! don't use them unless you enjoy detonation

I´d even say that a B5 is too hot for such an engine in such ambient temps. But of course that also depends on tune. Here I only use B5´s in bone stock engines.

Do not use those plugs unless you want pretty holes in your pistons. Also, don't take advice from whoever sold them.

Replace the plugs and find another repair shop.

They're more interested in selling you what than have in stock than getting the right part.

He said parts shop.

Just noticed you're in Wollongong, I'll dig around for an online place I found, they can ship you pretty much any spark plug in a couple of days for less than your local parts shop.

Don't use anything hotter than the W8AC - in your part of the world you can get away with one colder, but any hotter is a real bad idea.

Finally got my hands on some NGK B5HS plugs. Not many places stock them over here. Athough i might order a few sets online so i've got spares.
