I'm am building a 74mm x 88mm 1800cc Type 1 engine and I ordered an Engle w100 camshaft and the VW mechanic in town said to make sure my oil pump will work with that camshaft. I'm not quite sure what he means. I have a stock oil pump off of a 1500 case, so will that work? Thanks in advance! |

It's a flat cam. |

You need the oil pump to match the cam. Dished cams need a pump for dished cams. A flat cam needs a pump for a flat cam.
You want a 26mm pump for a flat cam. |

So am I to assume the stock cam is a dished cam and the stock oil pump is for dished cams? If so, is there anything special I should look for when I buy a flat cam oil pump? |
