I have a 2275 cc engine and have dual Webber 44 IDFs. I have a Holley RED electrical fuel pump in the box still, but my experience with electric fuel pumps has been mixed at best. IS a mechanical pump enough to supply the fuel needed? |

The stock mechanical pump will be fine on a street engine. If your going to the drags I'd use the Holly with a pressure regulator. |

Yeah not dragging it at all. I just didnt know if the stock mechanical could keep up with two webber 44 IDFs.
I need to buy a new mechanical now. I remember the guy who sold me the engine had put a block off plate. DO I just get the mechanical pump for a 1600?? or is there a special one I should look at? I see reference to pushrod size and am not sure which one I need |

There is one pump/rod set for use with a generator and one set for an Alternator |

Mechanical pump will keep up with 2300cc with dual 48mm IDA for about 5 minutes before it sort of starts loosing steam,,, But that is at WIDE OPEN THROTTLE... I run a 2084 with dual HPMX 44's and no fuel regulator and have not had a single fuel problem with car since it was built in 2002...
Also campaigned a 2180 in autocross car with dual IDF and never had a fuel problem, other than a clog in supply line from tank....
Your mechanical pump will be fine....

^x2 ....If you go electric for sure go with a carter p60504 (on the both that i have used regulated between 3.2 to 3.5) great pump for the money, you will not need a external regulator.
check at hxxp://autoplicity.com ( $37.98) |
