I happen to be building a 2387 for a baywindow. I went with a CB alloy case machined for their all type 4 main crank. Went with that crank for the added strength. Got a 6lb ? crank pulley to offset the 13lb lighter flywheel that goes with those cranks. 5.7 on the rods which will give an almost perfect deck height and stock width. I've yet to buy the heads but 40mm intake valves is a bit small for the displacement. 1 5/8 on the exhaust. |

Because of the big displacement, the small valves, and short valve lift, I am guessing it will quite pulling about 5500rpm.
To get your 9.3cr, and keep a correct .045" deck height, you are going to need a 64cc chamber volume, which is big. Old 044's were usually around 55cc.
You might be better off with some new heads. They would solve a few different issues all at once. Some Tims S2's or so would get you the bigger valves to take advantage of the displacement and the bigger cam, and they can also be built with a proper 64cc chamber.
I would skip the Scat lifter's and use Engle lifters to match the cam, or a set of lightweight Thorsten Pieper tool steel lifters.
