Noting what was pointed out on the first page of this thread, that edges don't get coated well and rust first, after years in the coating industry as an Engineer it is known that it is normal for edges and outside corners to not be coated as thick as flat areas. to best protect around edges and corners, a second coat is often needed.
The factory bentely manual has some good advice on corrosion protection, with illustration's and application guidance. |

| I had seen the Samba test before. It was pretty informal with respect to controls etc. I'm still convinced a "coupon" system actually attached to a car would work best for testing. Salt, sand, pressure washing etc under a variety of vehicles. |

From that link:
>>>The test plate spent 6+ months bolted to the engine skid plate on my wife's Subaru.<<<
Not sure what you mean by controls though. |

So my mistake...apologies to Mr. Merrill :-(
I've read this thread before: Rust Prevention Product Testing: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=131753
but certainly not the hard wax version. I've got some reading to do. Thanks Nmerrill for posting the link: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=479448
Waxoyl was already on my list of products to test, but not the hard wax. Great results there in that thread..and agreed, bolting to the bottom of the car is as good as it gets! |

Oh, no worries!
It's too bad he didn't test any Noxudol products.
I hope you are still planning on running your test with the other products...? |

| Yes..still planning on testing. It's a big project, particularly if we want to test on multiple vehicles. |
