the sunnen hone briushes arent a flopy pos.they are held in the correct position, with the correct pressure. unlike the hand drill ball or brm"splatow brush". dont let the fantasea engineering fool you. but....yes if you need it those do work to an extent.but not as good as a rigid hone like the sunnen. . the reason the grant rings "work" are because they are a soft iron and have the machined ridges&vallys in the face to wear away fast. thus the "quick breakin" the proper hone job and a high quality ring will seat fast and last long time GI  ....the thinner the ring the beter they work( of coarse the quality of the ring helps a lot too.) yes the total seal quick seat works awesome. it keep the fricksion away from the rings, keeps the rings from being eaten up but the "raw" hone job. no gaulding.it all gets time to burnish in properly....well it will not fix a fucked up hone job& inferior rings, and shity building practices. |
