I looks like there are only 2 ways to hook it up. It acting as a power switch or as a ground switch :wink:

Here's what happens when you accidentally leave the window down in FL.

Luckily I didn't glue down the carpet on the floor, I was able to take them out and shake most of the water out, then wipe the rest up from the floor. Suprisingly not much water actually got in.

Looks really good in the pic. One question though... where are your front turn signals? In the grilles? :lol:

:P yepp they're inside the nostrils .

Eventually I plan on going back to the stock ones. Right now they are just those little rectangle ones you buy at Walmart/ autoparts store, so They aren't that bright. If I can't get the originals back, or there is some other problem I'll just install a better setup for inside the grills.

Finally got to do my fuel lines, did the engine compartment lines, and under the tank. Got a good bit of gasoline in my eye.. Then decided to wear goggles.. all of the lines were replaced with rubber ones, the only braided part was pump to carb. The replaced lines were in bad shape, cracked and pretty thin.

Here are the old lines next to the new ones

New is more grey, I'm guessing they were black

Wow those were ugly! I'm using the new rubber lines that are Ethanol rated.

Got a transmission for 10 bucks 8) appears to be in alright shape,

Anyway to tell what year it's from? Told its IRS . These are the only numbers I was able to find easily.

well progress is slow, I haven't really had any problems to fix - not complaining about that! I got my spare shift rod and cage that came with the trans, getting a new cage next week - I'm just going to use the original Vw parts, and only the Plastic from the new one. got to look at the trans - it is an AH code, gunk was covering the letters.

I did an oil change the other day because I was feeling bad about using the cheap stuff, so now it has nice oil with Zinc. should keep her good and happy.

Today I noticed something that was new to me, but it's probably been like this since I got it. the gap between the tire and fender on the passenger side are quite a bit closer , that the drivers side. Is this just from old suspension?

Finally got to change the bushing, and the Inserts for the cage! Things went smoothly for the most part, but did have troubles.
did't use any of the aftermarket parts except for the inserts.

old bushing, didn't look terrible..except the part that holds the clip lol

cleaned the old shift rod with kerosene and steel wool, looks brand new. did the same to the shift cage, and parts.

got everything put in, dropped one of the inserts inside of the tunnel twice,dropped a wrench too - coat hanger was MVP of that job. after everything was all installed and the gear stick was adjusted everything was very smooth! much more positive shifts!

Well, decided to replace my broken door hinge finally..

Went to crank it, so I could work on the cement - and then It suddenly died, and had no power - turns out there was a connection on the wire that goes to the VR that wasn't crimped, and had fallen off. That took a while to find..

After fixing that I finally got to work on the door, taking it off was easy

Putting it back on was defiantly not a one man job - atleast not for me. Had to wait for my friend to help. Then adjustment was a nightmare, after adjusting the striker the alignment is 'pretty close' hopefully I can tweak it alittle more to make it better.

Should be the last update for a while, I'm beat. Still have to put the front bumper on..
