Surprising weekend for me and the bus. Enter BugJam and won 1st Place in type ll RatRod.
I'm not really into the competing thing, but feels good to know all the hard work did not go unnoticed.
The judges were very impressed with my undercarriage.

Don't think there's anything different about a single cab decklid? Just about everything else from the front doors back is different apart from the frame components, but I'm pretty sure the decklid is the same? |

I'm not sure if KlassicFab making them at this time.
Hasn't made these or pressed bumpers in almost a year, word from his suppliers is he's backlogged trying to catch up on other, easier, higher selling parts
I recently bought the last few last in north america at least that was what I was told/ran into when searching for them
Ken @ concept1 had a few '58 lids when i got mine the only different in them is having to cut the brakelight hole in them but with the price an original lid it's not that big of deal for most  |

Well, they are not the same on a barn door. Maybe the person that wrote the catalog listing did not make the difference when making the jump to post barn door.
This writing accurate parts book descriptions takes a very knowledgeable person as well. But I would rather have accurate parts than accurate descriptions if I could only have one.

Remnants of old heater cable housing.
I'm just starting to replace my heater cable tubes. Lots of fun to cut out the welds. Do you know how they are attached in the housing? I'm hoping not to have to cut it out and into pieces. |

Djholland, Looks like braze welded with brass?
I replaced with another complete set from another bus without cutting or separating |

Hey, nice Bus and great thread! I need to do similar metal work on my 57 Kombi. I like seeing the close ups of how the metal all fits together. Any pics or steps of your safari install and who you bought them from?
Keep up the good work! |

Thanks for the complements.
Unfortunately I didn't take pics of safari install.
I purchased the safaris from eis. There is very long thread in the splitbus forums I used before buying installing.
