What put adjusters on your beam? Yes you can. You can practicaly do it with the beam 90% assembled if you wanted. Makes it for a pain in the a$$. |

It could probably be done, but by the time you get them beam pulled that far apart, why not just drop it? It would only be like and extra 1/2 hour if you took it out and you'd probably save that in the end by doing the welding where you're comfortable. I would try to knock the center anchors loose with it still in though so the beam has something solid to mount to while you're doing it. |

Thanks, and great job, a picture is worth a thousand words. I'm swapping to a ball joint front end and was thinking of installing adjusters, now I will. If I set the adj so the stock whole is in the center of the adj, how much height can I gain, or loose depending on my mood. |

The avis adjusters give you about 6 or 7 inches of total travel. |

You could but drilling out the divots that hold your torsion housing in place would be a bitch! I don't recommend beating the housing till the divots press out either it's 10 times harder. I have done a cut and turn on the bus so you can do adjusters on the bus. |

I wouldn't do a beam in the bus.... a couple more minutes and the thing is out. Easier to do in a vise standing up.
I wouldn't drill out the center either, a big pipe and a big hammer takes care of business! When drilling out the center, you have to cap them, more time and ugly caps to look at. |

Jeromy thanks this inspires some confidence. I'll order the adjusters, I'll tell them to give you a discount or a commission. |

why the avis adjusters comes with two bolts,is supposed to use both? |

You can't use the bolts that come with them. They are 12mm and the bus ones are 14mm. That is unless you drill new holes on the other side of center retainer and tap if for the provided 12mm bolts. I think Camerod mentioned doing that. |

I used a piece of rebar cut to size and a 5lb sledge to loosin the center. Worked great. The top one wouldnt rotate, so I had to heat it up red hot and then rotate it all the way back and forth.
I stripped out the set screw threads, so I found an american thread bolt that was close and forced it. I was told to put a lug nut in the hole and hit it with a hammer. Well it was tight and wouldnt rotate no matter what. Thats what stripped the threads, excessive force!! It fit decent and now it goes in and out with ease. I also cut too deep when I cut the notches in the tube for the adjusters to move. Ez fix with the welder.
Next time I will just cut 1/8 inch deep then pry the metal piece out with a screw driver.
When I lowered the bus off the jack stands it went all the way down. Tires hit. 165sr15s, so I raised it up all the way. Looks good, thanks JEFF RIZZAG SPINDLE GUY!!!
Now when I get some rims and low pros I can just adjust it lower!!
If anybody has questions I am more than glad to pass on info, as I just performed the AVIS adjuster install and shaved my beam making 2 inches narrower.
But remember I am just a backyard mechanic with a big hammer
Thanks again JEFF you da man
oh, I got caught sitting in my VAN in my garage by the neighbor last night, I felt like a 16yo with my first car. Cant drive it yet but I can pretend!! Damn I love this panel |

I had it wrong. Camerod taps the retainer out for 16mm which are easier to find than 14mm x 1.5. |

I'm using M16 set screws from McMaster-Carr...16mmx2x50. They work beautifully. Just enough clearance from the steering dampener too.
