I would recommend you safety wire all the fuel line connections that have a pressed in fitting. If you have one pull out, clean the connection well, apply a little Loctite and tap it back in. Loctite red should work fine, but if you have some Loctite 680 sleeve retainer, it is more suited to this application.

However, it's seeping a bit at the top delivery valve plate and I believe that's because the top has been sucked down through the years and contacts at the corners, not compressing the gasket/ring enough. Will try putting that on a sander to remove a small amount at the corners or Bob that sold me the pump is hunting his stash for a good plate.

I have just installed my rebuilt Pierburg pump and it is weeping from the top plate as well. I assume I may have over tightened it? Super annoying to get everything in there and to have it now leak.

The gasket should mate with both surfaces and at all four screws and not even be like that where it sits proud in the middle.

One time I left the small upper diaphragm spring out. It leaked at the top. I reinstalled it and the leak stopped.

Remove the top. You can use two crescent wrenches, one big to hold the top and a smaller one to carefully bend each corner of the top upward. Install back in place and DO NOT over torque.

Same trick with one crescent wrench can be done to flatten the flanges of the HEs and intake to carb flange.
