Hi;
These carburetors weber IDF 40/40 made in Italy Brevettato they are recommended ??, what difference they have with Spanish or Empi version?

Lack of vacuum port is one. Auxillary venturies may be different. But, if they are in good shape, they should work fine. Also, these came with chockes which you have to remove and block off if they are still there.

They do have the OLD style roller acc pump, in other ways should be relatively the same as weber 40 idf-70
40 HPMX uses larger venturi and nozzle, same sizes as 44 idf |

Weber carbs were originally made in Italy. Somewhere in the mid 90's they transfered all carb production to Spain so they could concentrate on fuel injection at their Italy plant. They are both genuine Weber.
EMPI HPMX are a reversed engineered copy made in China. EMPI is a different company then Weber.
There is not a right or left carb, only the linkage arms are different for the kits supplied for VW's |

Yes so far, unless "China Engineering" has changed something and not told us....
