As we should never forget...

...And yes, Glen. It does still hurt. It also hurts that most people have either forgotten or blow it off now as a piece of history that's irrelevant.

It's a sad world we are living in these days.

In 1963. The 16th street Baptist Church in Birmingham AL was bombed by white supremacists turned desperate by the turning tide of public opinion.

We have come a long way, but we still strive to overcome.

Little bit late, but - 30/10/25 - the former Prince Andrew has his royal titles removed by the King, following years of scandal.

A few survived. The Peoples Temple. Guy was a murderous nut job. And that is where the term "drink the KoolAid" originated from.

Four dead, The scumbags who did it were klan members. National outrage followed and that lead to the passing of the Civil Rights Act, which up to that time could not garner enough votes.

I missed November 9 , Krystallnacht. The beginning.

It’s actually the same day The Berlin Wall fell, but Germany celebrates reunification on October 3 , I believe, as there was little to celebrate on Nov 9.

Too bad they used Fla-Vor-Aid. Tragedy yes, but did not use KoolAid. KoolAid just got the bad rap for it. I still remember that happening and remembering the thought of why would someone do that. I was a child and didn’t understand the concept of cults and brainwashing.

Kindergarten for me, but I remember the shock among the teachers and then days later the whole school going out and standing around the flag pole.

I was in the 3rd grade. The bus driver made the announcement. It was the only bus ride I remember being in total silence. You could hear a pin drop.

Our class was watching a PBS science program on the TV (Pittsburgh) and they broke into the broadcast stating JFK had been shot/wounded. A few minutes later the principal came on the public address system and announced that JFK was dead.

In 1962 I was selling peanut brittle door-to-door, and JFK was traveling from Wheeling to Pittsburgh, and we broke away and lined up as his motorcade went by (open convertible).
