In 1974 Checker's master left office in disgrace. I remember a press conference where he was asked if he had bugged his own brother's phone. His response was "Yes, but he was aware of it". The followup question was "Was he aware of it before or after it happened?" His answer was "He was aware of it DURING the time that it happened". A typical response from the master!

...And yes, Glen. It does still hurt. It also hurts that most people have either forgotten or blow it off now as a piece of history that's irrelevant.

It's a sad world we are living in these days.

In 1963. The 16th street Baptist Church in Birmingham AL was bombed by white supremacists turned desperate by the turning tide of public opinion.

We have come a long way, but we still strive to overcome.
