icekoffee wrote: Killer bus! Did you happen to store your 15 window at Kent's place for a while? Looks familiar. I cannot wait to see the progress on the so23
Yeah, my 15 window is at Kent's, I hope he hasn't lowered it or something.
Perello/Carlos, it took me 14 years to restore my 58 15 window and I lived in the same country as the bus. This bus is 3500 miles (~5000km) away from where I live now, so it is more of a challenge, but I am pretty patient. |

Making some serious headway on the parts search:
I like to collect the missing parts, then refine what I have while I put the bus together.
For some reason, just having the part, even if it isn't in the best condition, seems to settle me a bit.
More to come soon. |

Maybe the most signature worthy thing I have ever read on the samba. |

Nice bus, and great parts gathering! Mine is Feb 26, 1960, I see your's is July 7. Is it a an 8 or 6 fuse box?, screw or spade? |

I also forgot this little guy. Not original but damn close...
Pretty sure the bus is an 8 fuse bus. I have actually never seen the bus or any of the parts in person yet, I live about 3500 miles away from where it is at the moment. The good thing is that I am close to Europe, so I can pop over for a weekend VW show and search there too. So far I have three trips planned this spring. One day I will get to check the bus out, but until then, it is looking at pix of it and trying to figure out what parts I need.
Speaking of which, does anyone have the correct clamp (or a photo of one) that holds the elephant dick to the tank?
I also need the plastic clip that keeps the bread box closed, a Mufuga sprinkler spout and a set of pillows (or the dimensions).
FYI - posting wanted ads on the samba really pays off.... |

I'm just starting to try that out. So far, I'd have to agree! Looking forward to the progress! |

Can anyone tell me if this is the correct style clamp to hold the elephant dick water tank filler hose in place? (see highlighted area)
If it is not the correct clamp, can someone post a photo of what it is supposed to look like? I searched all 39 pages of SO23 photos in the gallery and this is the only clamp that I could find. |
