Some aluminum stuff getting put back in place.
As they say here in Turkey: Yavaş yavaş adım adım (slowly slowly, step by step) |

Still collecting parts
59-60 sloper rack.
Misc. NOS parts. Some for the camper, some for the stock room.
Looking forward to Hessich Oldendorf to pick up a few and to continue the hunt. |

Very good looking project, up-most promise of smiles to come.
Surely I would think the fuel neck would be referred to as an elephant trunk, but I'm glad to see men are men, regardless of location.
Happy hunting, and keep sharing along. |

I needed a Müfuga sprinkler head, but didn't want to pay through the nose for one, so I made some and passed them along to some of the early camper folks that have helped me find parts.
Sorry, they are all sold out and I will not make any more. |

I'm back in the USA for a bit, and it has given me a chance to pull out some of the small parts that I have collected for the bus over the past year.
I don't have access to the bus or bigger parts, but I can tell you that there has been some serious progress on that front too.... |

Nice!
Putting a westy together is the hardest of all restorations. |

Not to mention stupidly expensive. I never knew anything made of plastic could be worth its weight in gold. |

You are lucky there is so much repro so23 stuff now but I guess its a catch 22 situation since the supply of original stuff has dried right up... If those were all og parts you would be looking at some serious coin and years of scouring the internet. I hope you manage to track down the original parts eventually. |

40hp, yes. Bastard 40hp, no. I'm building this bus as a driver/camper, and I have to remind myself of that sometimes, because if you watched my '58 15 window build, you know that I can easily go overboard. |

I'm sure you know this and have the book but Bill Fishers "How to Hot Rod your VW engine" has some some slick upgrades for a 40hp hot rod. |

Yeah, it will be a 40hp with a big bore kit.
As I recall, 1500 rockers act like ratio rockers on a 40hp, so maybe a little boost, plus a mild cam might be hidden in the case...
Onto fun stuff.
I recently picked up this cool vintage fuel bottle to go with my enders stove.
