Hi all
Took my hpmx's apart to clean and such before installing and noticed that the floats are at different length from top of carb when seated. They are same for both carbs.
This normal?
Thanks
Brett

not sure why pic didn't come through. Hmm.
Anyway, there are two floats, one for each bowl. ON the float closest to pivot, the distance to the top of the carb is 10mm exactly. But on the float furthest away from pivot, the distance is 13mm. It's the same set up on both carbs.
Hopefully that makes sense.
thanks,

| When setting the level, you measure the point furthest away from the needle/seat. So, in your case, your float level is 13mm. If you're not off-roading, you could probably adjust them a little more so the measurement is closer to 10mm. |

Thanks. In this case since the closest one is at 10 and furthest at 13, I'm assuming I carefully bend arm right at where closest float starts to 'level them out'?

| it's on a pivot. kinda hard to get them exzact.but it can be done.but it may be too high then. also ploat drop is very importaint.as is making sure the float dosent stick any where. |

A tiny bit of tweak at pivot as mark said and both are at 10mm and then adjusted to 32.5 for max drop. Bada bing bada boom!
Thanks for all the help. Learning as I go!

Not sure what you are seeing here... As you measure float at end furthermost from pivot..

Do not bend the arm to level them out.
Just measure from the float to the gasket at the furthest point. If you bent the arm straighten it out or your float level will be too high and you will flood your carbs.

Are you suggesting I shouldn't adjust it at the pivot to make furthest point 10mm?
I verified when I adjusted at pivot that both floats were 10mm.
Thanks

Adjust the float level at the furthest point away from the pivot to 10mm with the gasket in place.
Just bend the little tab that the needle rides against.
FWIW I have mine set at 11.4mm. My engine seems to run better at that setting.
Good Luck.

Awesome. That's what I did. We shall see how it goes. The joys of learning dual carbs.
