Guys,
Not sure if there's a better place to post this but here goes....

This issue with fuel line has been bothering me. The German braided line doesn't seem to last very long maybe because of the alcohol in our gas. I've bought rolls of Gates barricade in 5/16 and 1/4. The 5/16 works great on fuel injected buses but the 1/4 is slightly too large for carbureted buses. So this morning I did some quick online snooping and found this

Honda Fuel Line 5.5mm Part Number 95001-55003-60m

It works out to be roughly $2.40/foot if you shop around. I just ordered 26 feet. When it arrives I'll come back and let you know what I think.

You can buy 3 meters or by the foot. I thought I'd buy in bulk to bring the unit cost down.

Hey Gary - your eyes are probably better than mine but did you see anywhere in the description where it said this fuel line was alcohol resistant? I know the Gates Barricade is slightly too big but mine has lasted a long time and the clamps have held without issue.

Not that I can quote but I did see something regarding outboard motors and alcohol.

I'm happy with my Gates lines. Been in the bus for a few years now. Thinking about dropping the engine this summer as the lines are nicely hidden so inspection is not easy. I'm pretty sure E10 is the common fuel in Fla.

I just measured the German braided rubber fuel hose I get from Wolfsburg West. It's 5mm ID. I have that used steel fuel line to screw into that fuel pump we were discussing, It measures 6mm OD. The 5mm slipped over it nicely.

I don't think that small difference will matter.

Thanks for sharing that. Ethanol "dumping" (it does not store well) to higher than advertised values has been documented. Modern engines with plastic fuel lines and computer controls can handle higher percentages.

The Honda fuel line arrived and I like the quality. The size is perfect. The hose has a soft rubber feel to it. I also just purchased a couple bags of spring clamps that seem to play very well with the new hose. I'll try and post some pics soon when I install my NOS Pierburg fuel pump this weekend.
