I am building a engine for my newest trike build and it will be a 60 hp block that I have had line bored.
1. I do not want to cut the case for bigger jugs so how big can I go on the cylinders without having to enlarge the cylinder holes?
2. I want to use dual carbs like a dual solex or weber kit.
3. A lumpy cam would be nice but I do not want to go too crazy as I am using a stock set of dual port heads.
I have built a couple of vw engines from the ground up but they were all more or less bone stock so I am asking for recommendations on carb kits, cams, etc.
Thank you all and God bless.

I have in the past and present used 87 mm cylinder/pistons with no adverse effect. They make slip in 88 mm sets too that require no machining. These are quite thin wall and most guys do not recommend them but in your case the vehicle is very light and with all the proper stock tins, flaps and thermostat for proper temperature control in place there is no reason to believe they will warp on you in an 800 pound trike.

Twin single barrel carbs with the stock cam will give the impression that the engine is "cam-ed up". This is especially true with dual Kadrons and greatly exaggerated when used with dual cannon exhaust systems. If the sound is all you are after then that is all you need. Be aware though that the engine set up that way will also have the same light throttle "lumpy" drivability as if it had a "cam". Mild flat spots and feeling like it needs to be "romped" on to clear it out.
