Dave, what are your plans at a high-level?

You’re shipping the van, and then flying to pick it up upon arrival 2-4 months afterwards I assume?

Will you drive it around Europe for what, 4-6 months and then ship it back or put on storage for future use?

If put on storage and then back on the road, how many times/years plan to do that?

I believe there’re some time restrictions on how long you can stay in Europe as a tourist, not sure if it applies to the person or the van (or both), something like 6 consecutive months (?).

Side comment: I’ve heard from folks from Spain that it’s somewhat easy to cross to Morocco, and that it’s a great place to visit with a van (in case you become bored of seeing cathedrals). :D

Shipping the bus over and flying over to get it from the terminal. Going to stay a week and get it supplied for future camping.

I'll leave it in a stalling place near Amsterdam and fly home.

I plan to fly to Europe a couple times a year and travel for 3-4 weeks+ each time. I hope to do this for the next 10-20 years....

As I understand it there should not be an issue with the 6 month time frame since it is the person they are interested in, not necessarily the vehicle, and I will not be there that long each time. I have friends who have been doing this with no issues.

Takkng care of details.

I’d love to run euro plates to not attract attention. I had these made.

But I will ship it this way.

Once I am there I will take off the US plates and see what happens. 8)

Good luck, but based on our trip in 2011 you could get pulled over. We had perfectly legal "tourist" plates, which are red with white letters, and they pulled us over to check all our paperwork. Wasted about 40 minutes, but no fine.
