It will show belt dust like that for first 10,000 miles till the pulleys have the serpentine edges wore. It can be perfectly aligned and still do that. Also, if the pulley is even slightly off, you will know it cause it will try crawling off the pulley. If you hear a "click... click ...click"... hurry home, cause your belts about to take the short cut home. I had to put the crank spacer to get it aligned.

Bring a big adjustable wrench with you, cause you will need to tighten up the tension 2-3 times before the belt stops stretching.

I have the same MST setup and went thru this on my daily over the last year. Even after 10K, im still getting alittle dust, but its not as much.

Crazy so i may be trippin. So i took a small straight edge...and maybe my crank is slightly back. maybe i can move it forward? or idk if maybe i can move my alternator back. no clue cuz it is VERY VERY small with how much it is out of alignment and that could be games my eyes are playing. i might have to try to post a video and show you. or maybe a photo

The straight edge will have a gap if its off. (as long as it is long enuff to touch both pulleys, you dont have to worry bout your eyes playin tricks.)

You might need the crank spacer, but get a good measurement first.

Loosen the alternator clamp and shove the fan shroud forward. That might be enough, i've never needed a crank pulley spacer.

I tried exactly that, pushed it far as it could go and still needed the spacer. I hope your right and he doesnt need it, cause i hate using them.
