Over the weekend the team celebrated the wedding of the body and chassis. Of course, both had already been together a few times before to check the fit, but now it's official.

Looks fantastic.

the details are perfect. 8)
it's amazing, when the shape and colour is right, how evocative it is. I can almost see men in overcoats and hats standing round it while at the same time remember my boyish wonder as the brooke bond collector card slipped out of the packet of tea...

So beautiful!! Great work guys!

Hello from Germany. I happened to be at Grundmann's with Karmann Ghia friends to look at the collection. Traugott Grundmann then showed us the hall with the 30/26. Absolutely top class and very impressive. I'm very excited about HO2026. Greetings and have a good time everyone

Incredible work!

I can't wait to see and photograph this in person.

The guys have had a bit of fun and fitted a period correct and original Stuttgart license plate IIIA-35610. The number combination is not correct for this car as it should be IIIA-37026, however it is very close right in between the plates used on the V3 and the W30 cars. The V3 had the plates IIIA-34XXX and the W30 had the plates IIIA-37XXX.

The correct one will be made to suit this car's identity. The rear plate will be painted onto the body as was done in case of the VW38/06.

I can't wait for the book to come out...

Nice touch, its got to have a plate to complete the look.

The next big step of making and installing of the interior is well under way. Just like it was in case of the VW38/06, this job is being done by Wagenmanufaktur. Marcus has been busy with getting all the custom-made pieces to fit the body. As you can imagine, nothing on this car is the same as the split Beetle as every piece of headliner, carpet and door-card had to be made entirely from scratch going only by available photos.

Exciting news!

The first drive at the Grundmann collection backyard at Hessisch Oldendorf. Not sure why it had to be in the dark, perhaps to show off the lights?
