Would I be accurate in identifying this as a Weber “progressive” carb? Removed it from a non running T4 1.8.
I’m looking to switch back to a dual carb set up bc of the info I’ve read about this carb on a T4. Is it worth selling this carb to someone else and what vehicle(s) would benefit from this carb?

Yes, Weber progressive 32/36 DFAV, at least it's not a Chinese knockoff.

Something watercooled, it's a real challenge to make one of those work well on an air cooled flat 4, it's not impossible though, read this: https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=217070
Duals are a big improvement, but if you are only using it for Sunday cruises you may be better off making that one work. |

Yes. That carb set up has no bearing on a type 4, maybe unless youre living in southern CA, Texas or similar.
The carb can be used on a type 1 with the correct manifold, or maybe someone with a GM Monza in need of a replacement carb. |

I have a progressive carb set up for my Beetle and I WILL make it run good. I spent about 10 years heavily involved in the SCCA and have used these carbs on everything from 1300CC to 2600CC. They all performed great. Yes these were inline 4s.
The first thing I will fab up for mine is an enclosed air filter that I can duct very hot air to. I think it will do wonders. The type 1 progressive intakes already have ex heat for the center section. |

Sounds good, you can make a prog work on a ACVW quite well, but it's not just a "bolt on" deal like the outfits that sell them claim, if you don't mind some tinkering and experimentation you can make it work in most cases.
If you like the challenge go for it. |

Yes, it is a Weber Progressive.
Yes, I would offer it up to a type 1 and go with duals.
I almost want it just for nostalgia.
I ran one for several years on a 1915 and loved it!
Got 32 mpg from Tampa to Atlanta. Never really kept up with it for daily life though.
I still have a rebuild kit for that with a needle and seat in my pile-o-parts. |
