My old 30 pict-3 carb and 009 distributor are tired. Time to upgrade. I got a new long block a couple years ago when I built the car, and just put the old crap back on. So I figure it's time to replace the top end.

I've decided that I will get a dual Weber kit from aircooled.net, but I don't know which distributor to get.

This has nothing to do with my question.

I had good luck with a German 009 and a compufire on my 1679 single port with ICT`s.

Bosch VJ4BR8 or 019 work well.

Just another made in China aftermarket copy of the German Bosch part.

Like I posted, I like the mechanical distributors but if the carbs have vacuum ports and you want a vacuum/mechanical, then get a rebuilt German unit.

Cool. I'm under the impression that the 34 ict Weber's have vacuum ports.

Is there any special coil or wire needs for this svda?

No.. just a wire running from the points to the coil. The 034 uses a condenser that has the wire attached so just connect it to the 1(-) side of the coil.

Thanks Glenn. Glad I asked and didn't just order that "Chinese junk". I had Chinese brake shoes and they delaminated and It could have ended badly, switched to german shoes. Don't want that to happen again. I contacted bill.

Dont know where they make them. 90% is made in China these days. They sure cost enough. I would never advise a $30 Chinese knock off. $30 for a dizzy ... you just have yourself to blame. Just being stupid.

The 123 brand sold in Europe has had good reviews by some of the engine builders in Europe. Glenn is only referring to the junk sold here in the USA.

We dont get much cheap Chinese stuff over here. Our shops dont support stuff that gets negative reviews. The only way is ordering over Ali Express. Order 3, 009's and get one usable. Trust me been there. They are awsome for throwing though.

Best regards

If your 009 is a genuine Bosch I would keep it. If you want to buy a new distributor to go along with your new carbs I would consider the CB MagnaSpark ready to run kit. If you want the Pertronix SVDA from ACN then get it and have them set it up for you.

FYI.... You will get better MPG with a SVDA.
