			| Thanks, I was watching that '62.
I didn't review all the photos but it looks nice and caught my eye

As someone posted on BAT, that is definitely not a 1200cc.
It looks like a dual port 1600 to me

			| Interesting The engine code is 5722631. Wouldn’t that be correct for a 1200cc?

It looks like it has dual port head manifolds.

Weird, that is an April 1961 40hp engine #
 Upgraded 40hp engine case?

 VIN is 39333509
I think, it's hard to read the last few digits here:

 Isn't that a '61 VIN #?
 I tihnk 1962 started at VIN # 4 010 995

 Curiouser and curiouser....
You’d think by my username that I would be up on these things😃
I wonder if this is the year of manufacture vs. the model year dilemma. Made in 61 sold and titled as a 62?

I'm pretty sure European cars had a 1300 dual port which fit a 40hp but I could be getting confused.

			| The 62, Nose ridge is crooked, why’d they use Bedliner under front trunk, side trim on drivers side ain’t right, passenger side trim isn’t straight at rear, but depending on price might be a good deal. | |

			| That 1962 belonged to 52brezelfenster (Dustin). I noticed his name on an envelope that was on top of the stack of invoices. He had it listed for sale here on The Samba quite a few years ago.
I'm planning to submit pictures to BaT of my 1964 Anthracite coupe soon to see what happens with this type of auction site.

Thank you kingkarmann! I tried to do a preservation restoration...saving as many of the original details as possible.

Agree 100%! Lisa, your work is amazing! Seems like most of the Ghias (and VWs in general) on BAT are incorrect in many ways. Don't let them talk you into no reserve, though!

			| Thank you Diane! Your attention to detail on LILCAR is outstanding. I'm not registered on BaT, but I have seen some of the auctions and comments during the live auctions...quite entertaining. Don't worry, there will be a reserve on this one. My husband is always asking me when I'm going to sell some of my Ghias. So, I decide to sell this 64 Anthracite and he tells me that out of all the Ghias that I own he likes this one the most and actually wants me to keep it...go figure. | |

			| $65k for the 64 restomod was none to shabby! $13k for a KG Vintage racer made someone’s “Speed Racer” dream!
 The 62 is still available.

And.. just for fun, take a look at a the MB Gullwing. It’s sitting at a solid $1,250,000 the last time I checked. My Gaw’d!!
 At least it’s German😃

I've always had a thing for convertibles, especially in Ghias, but if I could have more than one, this 64 would be easy to say yes to.
Love this color combination. So beautiful!! I think it would be very tough to see it drive away. :(

That should constitute forfeiture of voting rights on the basis that a petrol head of a wife would be a 11/10 dream partner for many blokes. 8) :D

Actually, more like F***ing Amazing for a Karmann Ghia that's neither a lowlight nor stock.

Clearly the seller was very lucky to find a buyer that had the same taste in customization.
 Good for them both!

Personally, I'd Much prefer the Anthracite over red interior 1964 that theghiagirl is contemplating selling.
 That one is stunning.

			| I was thinking that BAT would be a place to find deals post Covid, but so far it has been a sellers market. Maybe more people are home and would pay more that what something is worth.
The only exception is something you plan on keeping and want to drive. Those you may get lucky. But for the most part sellers market.

With that said, If you are selling for sure put a reserve to protect yourself:)
