Hi,
Is this piston is ok to install it or it will leak oil?

I would run it, but file that little sharp point off I see on one edge, incase it decides to break off. |

think about it for a sec. the oil control ring sits on that ledge. you just lost a fair bit of it. i wouldnt trust it. play it safe and find a new piston. |

It also looks like there is a crak down towards the piston pin. I would definitely not run it unless I had no other option to get home from somewhere far and away.
Buy 4 new pistons from AA. They are not that expensive Then you are also sure that they weigh the same. |

The piston rings rotate in their grooves. When the gap of the lower rail gets to that area it will be pulled downward and bad things will happen. |

That will not work.
That piston is JUNK
Maybe it would work if you locked the ring so it cannot rotate, and if the broken area was much smaller. |

For once, I agree with Modok.
Retire that piston. |

yeah , no Bueno.
many moons ago some stroker pistons with pins that intersected the oil control groove didn't have support rails (like a ring that clings to the inside wall of the oil groove instead of the cylinder wall) just this open area of half an inch or more cause oil control issues like crazy, it allowed the rings and expander to flex thus rendering that oil ring just about useless, on top of that companies like KB were using a dowel pin to keep the expander and lower ring from spinning the ends into the open area, making the ring even more pointless. while this worked... it was a band-aid and this is the reason we don't do this anymore. but long story short... sh*t can that piston, or turn it into a nut tray... or put it on a shelf as a reminder to not to ever trust something like that |
