Scat, Moldex, and Bryant are common flanged VW cranks with Scat being the least expensive of the three around $2200 with flywheel. Empi has reintroduced the Revmaster cranks that Bugpack used to sell for a little less than $1400. I understand wanting a flanged flywheel attachment, but it may not be needed unless you’re drag racing with slicks, or building a large turbo engine. I personally wouldn’t be using a mag case for those either. They are not a high demand item in the VW world, and aren’t readily produced. If you are wanting to get one, look into available stock asap. If you are first in line in the out of stock column, you may be waiting 6 months, or more for the next production run. |

Scat flanged cranks are $1800 plus $300 for the flywheel. The Bugpack (Revmaster) crank is around $750 plus $250 for the flywheel. I have 2 Scat flanged 84s and had an 84 Bugpack years ago. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another Bugpack. |

Wow, Car Craft has a really good price on the Revmaster stuff. When Empi said they were going to be reintroducing them, they thought the average price was going to be about $1100 for the crank, and $300 for the flywheel. The Red Barron’s 800+ hp pro-mod engine had a Revmaster crank. |

I JUST finished unpacking my P&C set from Car Craft. Was my first purchase with them. I found they had the best pricing on a lot of stuff and spent time researching their reviews regarding customer service. I talked to Ron and another individual on which case to buy there. The case should be here any day, now. I placed my order last Monday for the case. I saw the price on P&C sets and called the next morning asking to piggy-back it with the case order. They took care of it right over the phone.
Sorry to hijack for I don't have any worthy input on what you're asking. Just thought in case you're considering ordering from Car Craft, you'd be taken care of. |
