its the 51 on the right, I heard he took it off of the 55 pan and put it on a sweet 67 pan, he has allmost all the parts to put it together (not the correct fenders) but dash parts and some sorry tailights and a deck lid, not correct seats either
Wow, no one even commented on these? Nice!
Can you give me the contact info if they're for sale? :) |

yes yes.. nipple pink.. cerise pink.. floral pink.. pink pink pink pink pink.. on a 25hp no less.. criminal.. so criminal in fact that it should be focussed on forever.. despite the rest of the car being decent.. just rememember - pink engine.. and when the 25hp comes out and a diff engine goes in.. let us not forget that it was once PINK..
its always worth focussing on the negatives i find. |

I never thought of having a nipple fixation as being a negative.
Did you not notice that I mentioned that it was the "perfect colour for a vw engine"? sounds pretty positive to me.
nice ride, by the way. |

Well the good thing about Splitsville is, you can always watch from the sidelines :)
I love how guys that have splits used to post their progress pics and stories. It kinda dried up for a while, just hoping it kinda 'picks up' again. There used to be TONS of threads about splits, barndoors etc before, maybe it will pick up again (it's mid summer etc). |

Chillz- There are two types of people in life, those that follow what everyone else is doing, and those to strive to have something different if I was to run out and buy a set of Fuch's I'd be a GFK nutswinger like the a LOT of others are doing....why have 2000.00 rims and my shit ain't even painted yet. ...I have YET to find another split window bug lowered on original 16 inch wheels and if I do see one, I'll know that he just copied what I'm doing. |

Gulp!
That's one SWEET Split. I'd kill for something like that, I'm trying to find a split for sale, but either they're totally restored (no thanks) or non-existant.
Anyone got a 3-5K Split for sale? :)
I have 18" Titans waiting for it (I think they would be the perfect wheel for a shitty splitty). |

So what's that make me?
My '50 was on earlies when I bought it.
I'd post a picture, but I haven't taken one since I got it. I'm trying to be "low key" until it's a bit different than everyone last saw it. |

That makes you the only guy in history to actually buy a GFK car and get to keep the rims!!!! LMAO. |

Yeah, you have a point, Eric. I try to make all of my rides the way I want them. Sometimes, though, it does end up appearing that I'm copying someone else's style, but in reality, I'm just doing it up the way I like it. You are right, though. Earlies are seemingly on every nice ride these days. Back in Duhnadia, I bought a southwestern '79 Camaro Z-28 (yes, I know....mulletmobile  ). The car was a basket case, but didn't have so much as a blemish of rust on it. I went about restoring that car, but removed all of the scoops, stripes and air dams, for one explicit purpose....every fuckin' mullethead was driving a tacky looking, covered-in-decals Z-28, and I wanted something different. While it was a 375hp, 4 speed tire fryer, it looked like a clean, "plain jane" Camaro. You actually had to drive, or be a passenger, to appreciate the "subtleties" . So I can deffinately appreciate what you're doing. Your car looks kick ass. I can't wait to see it finished. Good job. :) |
