Hello everyone. I apologize in advance for what is (at least to me) a very boring post.

How do I get these hose clamps unclipped?

Thank you

Ted

Try prying up the side with the holes in it, if that fails cut it, it's a single use deal.

Ok thank you.

Unfortunately these came with the new, quick-disconnect kit for my Motive power brake bleeder, and they are in the clamped position. I'm guessing if I come up with the black magic (lol) to unclamp them without ruining them that I will need to re-clamp them on the hoses attached to the new quick-disconnect.

I'll do what you said and pry on the side with the holes in it.

Ok I think I was coming at the problem all wrong.

These don't get opened up (unclipped), but rather, they are slid over the hose, then the end is pinched shut.

Not my favorite type of hose clamp. but now at least I know!

Don’t reuse them, buy new ones. End nippers work great for installing these clamps. I have used many of these on in ground sprinkler systems.

Correct, they come out of the bag as a closed circle, once in place you pinch the ear and tighten it. I guess you could split it where the holes and tabs are to get it onto a pipe that's in place and re close it before pinching, but I suspect the holes and tabs are just an easier way to manufacture it. They do make it convenient for getting them off sometimes, although big side cutters on the ear apart also works, depends on what's easier to access where it's installed.
