Thanks so much I appreciate it! I believe it's turning out exactly the way I hoped. I will be premiering it at Treffen in California.

You should take a rear tail light housing off and take it to match paint.
With newer paint it takes time to blend and to make correct as possible but even then you could have 5 1950's Bordeaux splits next to each other and have 5 different seeming colors. I have a color I believe is correct but still not correct from factor because the ingredient isn't made anymore per paint code. |

This is long overdue, as I've been trying to only post what's been done without giving away the new look of the car. Here is the original splitwindow carpet that has been cut from other original pieces of split carpet from my collection to repair and keep it with its correct look. Thankfully my wife is a seamstress and did all the stitching. And sorry in advance, there are loads of images to take you through the process. Also big thanks to SKIM for his left over pieces that helped make this possible!
Here's the tunnel after some minor repairs. Good as used.
Making sure the cut fits good.
Now ready for Mika's Heat rings.
I really liked the way they turned out!!
Time to check out me and wife's work!
Another original piece I had stored away and I finally had the right car for it.
The runners are the only carpet I had made.

That came out super nice!!!! Mrs. TWO glove Boxes is an artist!
It really looks GOOD! When I started reading what your intentions with the carpet were, my right. 50+ year old carpet being manipulated and sewn together. Never thought it was a possibility. Thanks for proven me wrong.
Again, it looks REALLY GOOD! Nice job to both of you! |

Excellent, well done!
I know that “inlay work”, as you and your wife have done it perfectly in the middle section, is basically possible, absolutely worthwhile but from my own experience it is rather complex and time-consuming.
The edges disintegrate or fray very quickly after the cuts and before joining.
(I have uploaded a few pictures to the gallery, as I do not want to clutter your wonderful thread with pictures that are not related to the vehicle.) |

Big thanks Jimbo this has been a tuff task and my wife doesn't realize how cool the stuff she is doing. More updates to come before Treffen.

Thanks and appreciated, and I never have done it before but my wife said the pro and cons and couldn't be happier how it turned out. |

| Maybe you could stain the new carpet pieces with some brewed coffee to help obtain a closer color match |
