I'm trying to find plastic plugs used to seal the various openings on an engine during a build. They typically come when you order a short block from an engine builder
Any ideas for a source?

Just use tape.... blue painters for short term and duct for long term. |

I guess I must have done the wrong thing by stuffing clean shop towels in some things, and using blue tape elsewhere. Amazon has large assortments of the plugs. That said, it isn't like Basking Robins 31 flavors - and I''ll have an orange one, Suzie here wants a pink one, Joe wants chocolate......"

I know stuffing rags into a hole is....lets say, intuitive.
tho i really don't know why, it makes little sense when examined.
It must originate deep in the subconscious.
round plugs fit round holes, while tape works good on flat surfaces.
Mcmaster has fantastic gaffers tape, and foil tape is expensive, but it lasts near forever. Life is too short to use crappy tape  |

Any company/workshop fiddling with hydraulics will have plenty of different sized plastic plugs. At the previous work, we had left over boxes full of 'em. |

Maybe take a look at the 3D printed parts thread. I seem to remember someone there making just what you’re looking for. |
