Hey guys
Currently in process of rebuilding my 1700 type 4, and I’m not sure what to do about these “smog” lines?
The previous owner had the lines welded together. See pictures l Can somebody please explain what they do and why someone would blind them off?
What would be the best thing to do?:)
It’s going back in a bay bus
Beat regards

There once was an air pump driven off the crank that pumped air into those to burn pollutants in the exhaust.
The solution is a M10 x 1.0 hex drive pipe plug, or valve adjuster screw. |

Yes, screw in the pipe plugs or valve adjusters to block the holes. |
