I’m biased because of a personal connection to Devins bands. You might know him from his work with Steve Vai or his former band Strapping Young Lad. Arange of almost 6 octaves makes him technically a great rock singer and I really like his styles. This is more easy listening than his other works.

Count me in on this. Makes the tragedy of her illness so exceptionally cruel.

Honorable mention to Amy Winehouse.
Not sure she's on top of the list, but on the list no doubt.

Not one mention of Neil Young.

Old Man always gets a blast on my car sound system.

You know you are good when Tony Bennett is impressed.

Prince, Sinead Oconnor, MJ,

Its a good thing there is DEI in music otherwise all songs would be Taco Bell.

John Lennon
Mick Jagger
Ian Anderson

And the ladies:
Johnette Napolitano - Concrete Blonde, great voice
Debbie Harry - Blondie
Melissa Etheridge
Sheryl Crow
Gwen Stefani - No Doubt
Alecia Beth Moore-Hart (P!NK) not a big fan of that type of music but she has power.
Annie Lennox
Chrissie Hynde - Pretenders
Susan Janet Ballion - Siouxsie Sioux (and the Banshees)

plus many of the others already mentioned

Although not a rock singer, at the time this was very remarkable.

Whitney Houston singing the Star Spangled Banner in 1991, not long aftet the Gulf war

Still gives me goose bumps as a proud Vietnam Vet, when I hear her sing it. Whitney nailed it like nobody else
