this is my feedback on my purchase with AIRKEWLD.COM.
THEY SUCKED.
for any of you people that are thinking of purchasing through them. Good luck.I decided last month to purchase a full air ride kit from them last month. I spent $1400. anyways i ordered it on a friday(1/23) and was told that it would ship on wednesday. well it didnt(which i wasnt informed of) and instead it shipped the following monday(2/2).ups delivered it the on the next monday(2/9). when i recieved the package it was missing parts and the front shocks were incorrect. i called pete at airkewld and informed him of it. When i asked him if he could ship me the correct stuff and the rest of my stuff he forgot quicker than ups ground i was told "well that would cost us like an extra $60".HELLO..i just spent $1400.I think the $60 wouldnt have killed you.anyways beside that i was told he would send a tracer out to pick the incorrect package up. He also said that the correct and rest of my stuff would ship that day. BULLSHIT.He didnt ship anything until i had emailed him to get a tracking number from him for my new package which was the 17th(a week and a half later than when it was supposed to).anyways my package just arrived today (2/23) and to my suprise it was correct. IT ONLY TOOK A MONTH instead of maybe 7-10 days. |

I hate ordering stuff, waiting, then realizing that it hasn't been sent yet. However, it is part of ordering things via online/catalogs.
Makes you appreciate a local shop with parts in stock sometimes!
So, now that you have their suspension kit, what do you think about the product? Hopefully, in the long run, it was worth the wait. |

i think the system looks good. that was the reason I originally ordered it. the only thing about everything you pay for is the lack of instruction in the kit. They give instructions but there are no diagrams and i think a beginner to the vw scene might be a lil confused. |

Damn bro that sucks. In Pete's defense I have met him personally and I don't belive he would "F" you intentionally. I am in the same type of mail order business as they are and understand why this stuff happens. I know the product he sells is quality stuff and I am sure you will be happy with his kit. 100% bolt on is pretty nice and by getting the chance to take a look at the kit first hand at Cooperstate it looks pretty easy to install. I am sure you wont have any problem getting it together. Good luck. _________________ Always remember to have more brains than you have horsepower.

In my defense only, I shipped the wrong shocks to him in the complete kit.
my fault.
After a call from him I sent another package through UPS.
I am now out a UPS shipment and a USPS shipment of Air shocks.
I did ship him new ones through USPS because its cheaper and i had to pay for shipping, so I did that. They came back to me becuase there was nobody there to sign for it. I am not going to leave a set of air shocks on the porch for anybody to gander at. I am not going to eat $$$ for a pair of shocks that come up missing.
Not my fault.
I do hope that he will be happy with his kit and I do pride myself in Customer service.
He failed to mention, that i asked him what i could do to make it to him, and he stated that it was a little late for that. OK

first off. you didnt send me a complete kit. you forgot the torsion replacements. and you also forgot the bolts to attach the heim joints. as far as your usps shipment...i have a hard time believing that. i have recieved packages in the mail and they leave a notice that they have a large package and they didnt.Even if you did , i have a job and cant just wait around all day to get a package especially if i dont know its coming. you didnt tell me it was being shipped usps and also didnt inform me of when to look for it. as far as your what can you do to make it up to me.....i dont know...what can you do...all i wanted was my stuff in a timely manor and that sure as hell didnt happen. |

I've been on both sides of this situation, being a VW owner and working in a mail-order parts business. Here's my advice for both parties:
Seller: Do whatever you can short of degrading yourself to remedy or 'defuse' the situation. A mildly annoyed customer with the correct parts finally in his hands gets over it pretty quickly, and usually respects you bending over backwards to make it right. As a customer service manager, I refer to it as 'falling on my sword,' or 'cutting the blue wire.'
Buyer: Arrange for expensive packages, like suspension, to be shipped to your work address in the future. As long as nothing shows up C.O.D., nobody there needs to get their knickers in a twist. Besides, if your work is open during regular business hours, somebody will receive the package. No worries about it being left, and all you have to do is tell the receiving department(if there is one; my work's 'department' is one guy ) ahead of time that a shipment is coming on whatever date.
To both: Make it right on both ends, and move on. _________________ Organized people are just too lazy to look for stuff

I have been dealing with the owner of Airkewld for years and he has never done us wrong. Sounds like an isolated incident, I would give him a chance to make it right for you _________________ The Original German Folks |

Seems to me that airkewld is becomin a "playa" advertising here and in rags and what not. I applaud them for getting kits together and coming into the VW world in force. It may be hard for some people to deal with the fact that sometimes companies have to work the "bugs" out of the system before they become efficient... Seems to be that it has been resolved. You are crying over a month wait time...you have no idea man, search for ODIN in the forums and see what other new businesses do when they start up...I once had to wait 3 weeks for an 009 from a very reputable mail order company. hey...wait a minute Airkewld told me they were building bags for busses along time ago and they are not done? DAM YOU GUYS!!! lol..not bein able to sign for it is no excuse on your part and you failed to mention that 690. come correct next time |

i understand that things might take time. but the original order was sent in a timely manor but it wasnt correct and was incomplete. my beef is the amount of time and B.S. that i got about how long it was gonna take afterwards.... as far as signing for it how could i if i didnt know they were coming in the mail. i was told they were being sent via ups.Ups leaves a notice and they redeliver. And furthermore i think they are full of it about sending it in the mail to begin with.the postal service leaves a notice about packages also.[/u] |

I am thinking about using this system for my bug. The roads around here suck so I want to be able to raise the car while I am driving it. how do the torsion tubes in the back come into play and what is side to side. I am not wanting to bounce the car or do any fancy crap just raise and lower the car. |

for what it is worth.. i just bought some airshocks off him.. paid for them on the 4th, got them on the 19th (same state delivery) from riverside to Sacramento..i guess that is ok considering he might not have them in stock right.. well i get them and they looked used, now im trying to figure out if they are supposed to look used?
today or tomorrow i will post a pic in the gallery so you guys can tell me what you think..
but to his credit he always picks up the phone and i don't think he is trying to be shady because i think he wants to be around for awhile. _________________ "hey now" |

To all...I have just met Pete, and I have been around v-dubs for a long time. This guy has a lot of good ideas to offer our community. I don't think in any way he would want to screw anyone, that would simply soil his name in this business. Think about how fast word would get around if this were a continuous problem... Pete is cool as hell and has a lot of good ideas. I think he is what the v-dub community needs right now, some fresh ideas and products. As far as the Bus air bag kit...my bus is at his place right now getting bagged. I'm sure he will be coming out with a kit as soon as possible. As far as his workmanship or products...buy something, an you will see it is the highest quality, even better then some of the name brand stuff that we are used too. |

turns out i might have gotten differnet airshocks by accident, to my surprise pete e-mailed me even before i got a chance to contact him and offered to send me a new set.. good service, i think so.. i will update when i get my new shocks..
but in my opinion airkewld does not suck.. but that could change i guess, either way i will probably buy some more stuff from him in the future, i just wished he had a local pick up spot so i didn't have to pay for shipping all the time. i have respect for anyone who has an idea and follows it thru, plus i did his bag set-up.
