were the taillights from 57 to 59 the same? I have a semaphore 57 and it was upgraded to 63 taillights. I have a pair of 59 taillights that I believe are correct for the 57, anybody know? |

Not true.
There is a difference between the left and right. |

So everyone wants to get anally retentive about slight variations. Well:
#1, 1961 bulb holders are spade terminals. Earlier ones are screw type
#2, Diffuser inner lens on 1955/56 were dimpled
#3, Diffuser inner lens on 1957-61 were ribbed (Horizontal lines)
#4, There were several diffent markings on the glass lenses
#5, Besides the 3 lenses shown above, there are other variations of the Hella manufacured lens, as well as a Chevron design |

for the snowflakes, would hassia lens or hella be correct for a 55? |
They would both be correct. They were both period manufacturers of the glass lenses. _________________ 1953 Zwitter 11C (L73) |

Is one less common than the other? |
I'd say Hassia is less common but not 100% sure. _________________ 1953 Zwitter 11C (L73) |

Without starting a new thread, I have a question about 55 taillights:
Are snowflakes correct for an early 55 US car (summer 54 production)? If not, what would be?
Thanks |

I believe you need the egg style lights like these.

Which month? Us-only "egg" lights were used from Oct '54-April '55. If your car is Jan '54-Sept '54, you want "heart" lights |

Eggs were used until May, not April.
In April, and only April, the snowflakes were optional. _________________ Kevin "Wiggy"
