Mark your calendar for Saturday September 12 for the 1st Annual DVG BBQ and Show-n-Shine. It's from Noon to Midnight... so bring a chair.

The BBQ will be at Jim Lynch's house in Kings Park. It's located at the end of a cul-d-sac and we will be able to park our cars and display them. So make sure you drive a "air cooled" and it's all cleaned up (of course Manny's will not be clean). Jim has a large backyard that's fenced in so the kids can't escape. We might be able to get Brad to bring his Hot Wheels track so watch out Raj, little Jimmy will be gunning for you.

The group will provide basic burgers, hot dogs, chips, soda and beer. We ask that everyone bring something to share. Also bring you own chairs or you'll be standing. Family, wife, kids are all welcome.

Address: Lordly Court
Kings Park, NY

Feel free to go to the DVG website at http://www.dasvolks.com for more information

Sounds good Rob, I cant wait. Itll be a real nice way to be low key and enjoy an afternoon without the hustle and bustle of running around and washing the car up for a car show!

The weather should be good, but it's rain or shine.

Beer still flows even if the grass is damp Wink

Right on Glenn!

We will have some shelter set up just in case of inclement weather.

We'll be there so should you.

CJVWS will be represented, even if it's only me. My project tonight is to get the wipers to work "just in case" Currently it doesn't even have arms and blades and the motor isn't working but I got 12hrs to fix it. No problem ;^)

Anyone got any extra Rain-X?

There's no shame in taking the daily driver.

We've all done it.

I shoulda took Glen's advice.

Didn't get the wiper issue resolved last night but I was up bright and early and left the house about 7:30 with copious amounts of Rain-X on the windshield. I was plannin in swinging by Three Bugs and then head over to the DVG BBQ but I didn't get a half our from home when I felt the rear end of the '69 start to wander. Pulled over and found that I had a flat. Now as I packed up the bug last night, I made sure my spare was full, and even packed the right socket for the lugs on the Rivi's. I jacked it up, pulled off my wheel, then as I tried to put on my spare, I realized that the lugs were too long for the stock wheel. Mad

Damn! Here's a pic alongside 78 in Jersey.

Called AAA and two hours later I had my hoopty towed home.

Sorry guys, I guess I'll see ya'all next weekend.

Sorry about the flat tire.

The party is rocking and the beer is flowing. There's about 15 VWs and 40 people here and it's like "the night before the show camping".

So it's not too late, we'll be here for some time.

15 cars, 40 people, not bad for a rainy day on Long Island.

I hope to see some of you at the 2nd Annual.
