I learned a really cool trick today, probably old news to some. My bus has a dent at the bottom of the nose, to get it out, I shoved a deflated football between the dent and the body inside. I slowly inflated the ball with a pump, and POP, that dent came out!! I was amazed, worked like a charm. It was night when I did it, so no pics, I will post some tomorrow. _________________ 62 Standard Type 2 (Nothing Fancy)

I tried it on my bay in the lower nose area and it didn't tweak anything. |

have you seen the video of the guy that changes the generator belt while the car is running? Amazing!
And they stopped making the aircooled bug in Mexico! WOW! I've seen them used as Taxi's!
Just kidding - Football trick is pretty cool the first time you do it _________________ Stop dead photo links! Post your photos to The Samba Gallery! |

Used the "football trick" to pop out a huge dent in the nose of my '57 Single a couple of years back. The pics don't do justice to the difference! It took all of about 15 minutes.

THis is a very cool trick for sure. One bit of advice I found out was being able to get air in the needle with the football shoved way down in the nose.
I ended up clamping a small rubber hose about 18" in length to the end of the needle, and then could shove the football down in there and then pump it full easily with the hose from the air compressor...plus, air was released quickly too, made for extraction of football easy too! _________________ enjoy the journey,

Before, ONly Pic I have that shows damage, LOL
Shoved football in this area, but lower
Used pump to slowly inflate ball
Made a huge pop sound
Not perfect, but much better

Poor kid, get him a cap that fits! |
...a pair of pants too.
I have no clue who Reggie White is either, but I am guessing he's a Yankee?
Am I right? And if so... what did I win?
EDIT: Google shows I am wrong. Damn-it. _________________

LoL guys, my daughter is 8 and she is losing teeth plus mommy puts old clothes on her when she is helping with the bus.
Here is a pic of the door i did with the football.
Before, you can barely see the dent, you can see the rust spots where the corner of the crease was.
After

In the morning you can tell your little girl that the big dumb guy on the internet thought that she was a boy because he didn't look closely enough.
Maybe we need to add the Football Trick to the FAQ/stickys. This comes up every few years.
A stud puller should help on that nose but the metal looks pretty stretched.
The paint on that bus is NUTS! |
