I'm dealing with Moe from WCC right now. I got pulled into his dealing when I saw a 78.8 scat crank on ebay for a damn good price.
Just be prepared to wait. Ask him if he has the stuff in stock and for him to call you back once he's verifiied it. Then buy it and have him assure you that he is sending it out immediately.
For instance...like I said I initially started dealing with him because of crank about 3 weeks ago, yet I've recieved other parts but no crank.

Yeah, the same dude (JJMONEYHOGG) is also trying to pawn off cast Mahles for the type 4, as being forged. Big thread about it on the STF. Sounds like a shyster to me. |

Red Hand, into a little Maiden are you.
Anyway, about parts. I did buy an aluminum supercase bored for 78.8 x 94 and it rocks. Like I said just be extra cautious.

These guys are a shit stain to the vw scene.. You will have to wait 6 months to receive your parts if you get them at all.... They are a small time back door shop that tries to sell on ebay. They sell an item they do not have then they order it from West Coast Metric after they have received the item they will send it to you. IF YOUR LUCKY!!! His girlfriend sells also vw parts as (kreativegift) on ebay. They are all sacks of shit.... There Karma is about to get them.... O and Scat said they are giving them a bad name as a dealer and thinking of canning there dealer license... Thank god for those who have recived their items... |

I am sooooooo glad Im not the only Guy who's been Burned by them I guess it doesn't hurt as bad !here's my Story!
Several months ago while cruiesing ebay I saw what looked like a good deal and made the Call and Neccessary arrangements to have a set of Rebuilt used heads 1600 To which i specifically ordered German and would Pay extra for them Oh yes they took my Money when I said that~ Now get THIS I also ordered an AE One 1971 case I specifically stated This is what I want and need for my 1971 VW Oh i got "No Problem even though we are out here in the land of disaster land Caster" Should have been a warning to me right there but who new! about three weeks later My Supposed German built==Rebuilt heads I was supposed to recieve and Paid extra I might add where One Mexican and one germ,an with a sad repair on the Finn Crack.
Now for the AE case I recieved the case with a 12 inch Crack down the right side of the case back by the flywheel area and the specific AE case Numbers that I requested and again had to Pay extra for was completely the wrong one didn't even fall with in the stretch of numbers i needed I tried to say Ok The AE case numbers I can overlook but the crack No way then i said to myself whate a minute i paid extra for this and didn;t even get that. I was told by these individuals that it happened in Route and was the cariers Fault when in all actuality I feel The people that work at West coast Core Got tired of my Bitchen about where's my German rebuilt heads and AE case that it was purposely damaged even before I recieved it it looked as if some one Physically took a Claw hammer to th rear of the case and just destroyed the case totally---It gets better But before i recieved any of these items ( to which I trusted to be correct and in proper working order--I mean after all I paid for what I asked for and even Paid extra for specifics) Even before all this happened i asked West coast core what the Bore size would be on the case so I could spread the wealth around and purchase a Crank and bearings and all for the bored case---To make a very Long story short I was not only Lied to but they made no restitution on there part to fix any of it --I called numerous times only to be told its a shipping error not ours deal with the shipping company the shipping company told me that west coast would have to sign the release so that I could at Minimum get my Refund for the damaged case and guess what Niether transpired so my advice to anyone thinking of doing business with West Coast Cores Save your self your money time headache and frustration and go to a reputable Properly advertised Positive Feedback Vw Parts Company@ I lost out on Hundreds of dollers--But as it was said in one of the listings before mine its going to come back some how some where to Bite them hard DO NOT USE WEST COAST CORES THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF! and i was stuck with bearings crank and all for a case that never came thru I even sent the bad case back hopeing for restitution on there part to send another NOPE Nothing Perfect Name for a Company Perfect and after reading this if you don't agree that the name says it all Then I don't know what does "JJMONEYHOGG" They will take your cash and send You TRASH! |

I guess I was lucky, ordered a re-built case from them. They said it would take three weeks was delivered on time and with no problems. Same with a brand new case.

i buy and sell on ebay all the time. i try to buy from vendors with no negative feedback. that means they are taking care of their customers and any problems. there are good deals out there and there is alot of junk too. you just have to buy from sellers you can trust. negative feedback is a red flag. don't get me wrong, there are also bad customers too. some people are not going to be happy no matter what you do for them. they are just too picky or they think shipping is free to europe. just remember the rule of thumb when buying, if it is too good to be true , it probably isnt. |

Hello,
I bought an 1835 long block from him which was supposed to have an 8 dowel crank and flywheel. Well, within a week, it was in my town and I instantly noticed that a 4 dowel crank and flywheel were installed. I called Moe and he told me his guys screwed up and they will get the parts ordered to build another one. I told him to add a counter weighted crank to it. It took a couple weeks, but he not only built it with a counterweighted, 8 dowel crank & flywheel, he upgraded it to a 1915 because he got all the parts together quicker for a 1915. The motor has been great to me! It runs great! and I will deal with him again.
yes I don't have many posts here, but I am not in cahoots with Moe either. I have the same name over at Shoptalkforums with quite a few more posts.

A customer of mine purchased a "Scat" 78.8mm crank from West Coast Core for an engine I'll be building for him. Shipped in a timely manner, but there was an outrageous ($25) handling charge in addition to the shipping cost.
There was a post on the CLF with pics a while back about a West Coast Core engine that Art Thraen tore down down for a customer - it was a mess inside. _________________ Richard Sedoris - VW Performance & Machine - Youngstown, OH
