I think that the ones Aircooled.net sells are very good. Mine was the weld in version he was selling previous, but the bolt in version he has now looks just as good. |

I bought mine from eyeball-engineering.net. I haven't installed it yet, but it looks good just sitting on my shelf. |

That may be true, but from an engineering perspective, it is a poor design. The horizontal cross bar will flex down when power is applied because the down links are attached in the middle.
The others (CSP, VDub Engineering) are better designs, with the attachments at the end of the horizontal cross bar. _________________

Bruce,
You're probably right that there will be a bit more flex with the Eyeball design.
However, I have noticed a remarkable improvement over stock with a more rigid feel. There's no welding needed so installation is much easier.
I don't use my car for drag racing. I was looking to have a better tracking car on the twisties. The truss bar, along with a rear stabilizer and front beam braces have made a significant improvement. Oh, no wheel hop as well.
I felt, for the money and the usage, Eyeball Engineering delivered. |

With vibration and time the rod ends on the fast fab one will become loose and sloppy. Basically they are a steel ball with a steel ring bent to capture the ball. Some use teflon/brass others use brass liners for the ball to ride on which can get hammered out in a short time. The end result is the same loose ring and a ball flopping around. _________________ 1973 super 2110cc

cool thanks for that.looks like it's between the eyeball one or the Vw eng one as they don't seem to use the ball type ends
Thanks Andy |

I welded my roll cage into the horns. I don't think it's going anywhere _________________ Royals 2015 World Champions

This is the point where you start thinking about what is going on at the nose cone, and not what is happening at the frame horns, Tbird. |

Two locals installed the Bugpack kafer bar, both cars were street driven. One has a 1776 and occasionally does burnouts, the other had an awesome VW Paradise built 2276 with a geared trans to handle the motor. On both of these cars the Bugpack truss bar performed well. _________________ pimp
