The correct lug bolts might hit the brake shoe springs on the rear drums. _________________ Glenn

I learned that one the hard way The solution of course is to have the bolts ground down a smidge.
Another thing to consider is your front end, and the method you've used to lower it (assuming you've lowered it). Since I used CB dropped spindles, I had an issue with the inside of the rim hitting the bottom ball joint. If you have an adjustable front beam, you should be okay, but in my case, I can't run my set on my '70 Bug due to the clearance issue. I had numerous suggestions to grind on the ball joint, but that's not a solution that I'm too fond of utilizing. |

I've got a set I'm likely to be looking to sell pretty soon (rims and lug bolts) Feel free to drop me an email and I'll keep you posted. |

I have real 2 Liter Fuchs on my 74 Beetle. It's lowered 3 1/2" in front and does not rub at all with 195/65's. The rear is stock-ish height with 205/65's. I have the correct lug bolts and they do not interfere with the rear brake components. _________________

Bugnut68, I had the same problem using CB dropped spindles and running polished Pedrinni's on my car. Someone said to have the taper opened up on the lower part of the dropped spindle so the lower ball joint extends futher into the lower spindle. I had to use a larger washer under the nut but now I have over 0.125 clearance between the bottom of the ball joint and the inside of the wheel. Someone also said to get a tapered reamer and run that thru the lower spindle opening but trying to find a tapered reamer that size is not fun or cheep. |
