I just bought a 1963 with original stock beam....The only issue was that the king pin bushins had cracked and needed to be repaired. Well I took them to a shop and the reamed and rebuilt the things but I dont know what order or how many shims, rubber o ring go in ......I tried seaching but no luck does any one have a diagram?

Do you have the Dave Muir Idiot book? I believe there is a formula in that book. Gotta take a few measurements on the trailing arms and put em in the formula and it will tell you how many shims will go on the inside and outside.

That's the John Muir "Idiot" book. Actually any manual that covers the 1965/older VWs will discuss about how to set up your link pins in relation to the offset of the trailing arms. The shim chart, well here's one:

have you measured to see what your offsets are?
