Has anyone tried any of the new RevMaster heads yet?

Look like a cross between the VW 041, Autolinea G03/CB 044, and the AA 502.

Price looks good at $219 each

as do their 5.5 vw rods or 5.6 buick at $119

and 4340 82/84mm cranks at $255.

I know they used to have the long 94 cylinders but dont see them anymore.

				| kinda hard to see the intake ports but kinda look like a straight shot like the street eleminators, like the dogleg is gone, that would be nice. wish it had a D port exhast. also looks like there hemi cut, or that could just be the pic& shiney aluminum. |

i used a set of their rods in my 2021. nice quality parts esp for the price. they were also great folks to deal with. had i talked to them before ordering other parts i'd probably have a 2180 instead as i would have loved to spend my money with them. customer service speaks volumes...ken.... _________________ ITMC

I saw all there heads at The Classic. Looks like all it is now CNC machined. Ports, intakes and even the fins look superior to CB.

I was sold when I saw them... |

I just got a set of 049 heads from DRD. Long block is back together but I'm waiting on powder coating for engine tins and some other misc. engine bay stuff right now. Should be running in a week or two.

Looks like 44x37 valves. How much did they set u back?

Revmaster sells the heads bare apparently so u have to also factor in springs , keepers, retainers and valves. Then u need to lap in the valves. I would rather the guides not be in as well so portung can be done intake to seat as well. _________________ 2276 IDA's 86C 11-1 DD

The ones I pictured above are these... https://www.drdracingheads.com/xcart/DRD-L7-CNC-ported-type1-heads.html

DRD gets the 049 bare castings from Revmaster (without guides installed I would have to assume) and then does his own CNC porting, etc. I believe that he uses this same casting for every level of heads (L3, L5, L6, L7) that he sells, but I'm not positive since I only asked about the L6 and L7. I think he said that he just switched over to the Revmaster castings at the beginning of this year.

On a side note, I've been in the car business since '86 so I'm constantly talking to people about car stuff on a daily basis. Most people don't have a clue... but Darren really knows his shit, after talking with him for a while you begin to realize that he's overqualified for what he does. He's one of those guys who should be working for NASA or something, rather than building VW engines. |

The design looks more carefully modified from OE than some others (044), which is nice.

What kind of valve seats and guides are you using in them?

What is the port size (cc) of the level 5 head?

The ex port flow numbers look low, but low in a good way far as the ratio, how do you dial back the ex flow? |
