				| Look underneath the car for the hole in the pan, and then you could just poke upward through the carpet. I believe seat belts were a dealer installed option, so if you've never had any you might not have the hole drilled. |  |

 is it not lokated on the heater canal ??

				| My '66 has them just in from the heater channels/inner rockers/sills and of course on both sides of the tunnel. Mine are are captive square nuts welded to a small plate on the underside of the car. When the rear pan half's were replaced my knowledgeable bodyman cut off the plates and welded them back in place on the new pan half's. So if your pans have been replaced then they may not have been saved. Photos here: 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 My replacement lap seat belts came from Wolfsburgwest and they included all the mounting hardware and instructions to drill holes through the floor pan and fit the supplied 2"/5cm diameter washers inside and outside the floorpan to reinforce the seat belt fixing point for car that don't have the welded nut on the floor pans. I have their dimensions in .pdf if you want them emailed to you. I can get you more photos/dimensions if you need them

				| Hey, I just put belts in my 64 vert and I want to put lap belts (x3) in the rear for safety.  Is there a specific location to mount the belts.  I see no wholes or points to connect to? _________________

				| I wondered a lot about the number and placement of seat belt anchor locations in my very original 62, and looked at the owner's manuals and even at my Bentley.  I've come to the conclusion that 62's only had two-point mounts front and back, and only for shoulder belts, not for lap belts.  If you wanted lap belts in a '62 you (or the dealer) had to drill a third hole in either the sill or the pan (with some suitable reinforcement) for the outer lap belt mount. 
 Obviously shoulder belts alone were not safe, but back then standards were not yet in force requiring lap belts in all cars and all the science was not yet in confirming that shoulder belts alone were dangerous.  Looking at pics and sales literature of other brands I remember seeing that even super-safe Volvos at some early point offered shoulder-belts-only for a short time.

				| I was in the Car of the Century book looking at the 1962 color charts for a different thread, and found it interesting to note that it shows Silver beige for the upper seat belt mount hole covers/escutcheons and Anthracite for the lower ones.  Well, my 62, which was pretty original when I got the car, does have the lower mounts, and they were capped off with Anthracite colored plugs/escutcheons. |  |

				| By lower mounts do you mean at the bottom of the B pillar?  Or on the transmission tunnel?  Because mine doesn't have them at the bottom of the B pillar, and neither the Bentley nor the original owners manual refers to there being any there. _________________

				| It just says "LOW COVER& ESCUTCHEONS ON BELT MOUNTS".  I know where you're going with that, and I think you are right - they mean the rear seat belts.  Still the mount plates in my 62 look very well done, I'm sure it was some kind of dealer add-on plus they used the anthracite plugs and trim to match the carpet. Why they put them on, I don't know becuase they apparantly had never been removed before I took them out, my belts were mounted like you say, as shown in the owner's manual for the shoulder. 
 You know, I just had a thought, since this was an add-on, I'd like to see a Technical Service Bulletin regarding those lower mounts.  So I dug through the ones in the Techincal archives here, and wouldn't you know, i found it!!  Dang why didn't I think of that before, as we've talked out this more than once in the past! 				| Wow!  That's it.  That's how mine is mounted.  Excellent find!  Should be a sticky. 
 And the apparent term of the time for the two-point belts was "diagonal".

 I have a seat belt for my 64 beetle and the hole on the tunnel is really big and the hole on the floor pan is smaller.( i have the bolt for the pan ) what size bolt do I use for the tunnel?

 I have a 64 and these are needed.  2 for the tunnel up front and if you put rear ones on you will also need 4 more for the rear.  The rear seat only allows for two seat belts not three as I once thought.
