What is the OG seat frame color for an October 1951 Split? I`m going to keep my split and finish it. Some of the samba members are nice enough to offer to help me finish it. I want to send my seat frams out to be painted, but need to know the stock color.

Thanks

Same beige as on the steeringwheel and column, gearshiftstick and handbrake lever and the L-rails in the rear luggage compartment.

Anyone have the paint code for this? I want to order some in a spray can from WW, I think they sell several colors called "beige".

The list "L75 beige, proper for 1956-1957 Beetle seat frames", but I don't think that is correct for my '50.

L471 stone beige and L466 silver beige also available. I know the silver beige is the grey-ish white that was used on later horn buttons. And Stone beige is a tad darker than L75, but not much.

RAL 8025 is nearest I found. Color mixer added a drop of white base together and it looks very good tone.

http://noapplemusic.com/nason/

So that is the brown "chocolate" color that some early split steering wheels were done in?? Is there a corresponding "L" paint code for that?

Any place sell RAL-8025 in a rattle can??

Maybe L71, but no mix formulas anymore found.

http://karmannghia.org/paint_chips/laq_4.gif

Note that seat frames had 2 colors depending the car/upholstery colors. Most common was this brown, but at least Azur blausplit had light beige frames and L75 is near and this formula is available.
