http://www.greatplainsas.com/sccooltin.html

I just read a thread mentioning these things, the first I've heard of them. Is that link a representation of the proper item? What's the benefit of using aircraft tasked cooling tins?

These have been around a long time, they are used on a type 3 engine.

I use the stock type 1 deflectors with the rest of the stock tin, works good for me.

IMO the type 3 cool tins should only be used on mid engine setups or a race engine without all the extra bottom tin.

These tins were marketed long ago first by Johnny's speed and chrome.. The factory used these tins on the stock TIII engine but no upright engine..

Do a search here and on the STF for what I learned during direct testing of these last year with several cooling systems. My results even suprised Bob Hoover!

Man. Whatta way to rob some bucks. Now that I actually look at them the right way I do see that they're Type 3.

Yup, can't beat stock tin I suppose.
