Air Filter question

Hi guys !!

which is that specific oval window model that came with a securing strap over the filter`s top ??

Are you sure about that ?
Many of the first ovals are shown with a T aircleaner.

Glenn is correct. The ovals that show a T air cleaner are very early in the run. March only. Glenn's April date is correct. Wink '53 Zwitters should have a T air cleaner as well.

There are 2 styles of the strap air cleaners as well. 1953 has a no lip style.

There are 2 styles of the strap air cleaners as well. 1953 has a no lip style.


I have heard that the "no lip" style was for cold climates and was found on all Canadian cars throughout the entire year. Confused Mine is an Oct of '53 car and it has it.

Not sure about that, strap aircleaner seem's to have been introduced before end of zwitter production :

This website seem's accurate for the other points, so maybe they are right and T airfilter where used from stock during the month after this date.
