You need the old school speckled paint on the sheet metal that would look sick. Every time I get in my bug it reminds me of the trans am AMC Javelins, Camaro's and Boss 302 race cars.
I did the Krylon Coarse Texture Spray Paint in black Granite came out nice. It was 6$ a can three years ago now its 12$ The dust cleans up easily with a damp terry cloth EZ to maintain. It took a month the strip all the old tar and contact cement that part was no fun.
This stuff looks nice good price too. Doubt it ships to California

Yeah the sheet metal does look like hell on my car.
I have given some thought on what todo about it but knowing myself all to well I would have have it all stripped down again to make it look presentable. LOL |

Done for now.
All back together plus fresh oil & filter. Oh and a valve adjustment too.
No test run yet because it's been raining all day.

Found some awesome deals at the VW drags on Sunday.
1-1/2 exhaust with muffler and nice thick flanges. $50.00
The surface rust will clean up easy.
Nose cone mount and 4 working HIDs $20.00
HD link pin bushings, 4 exhaust flanges and copper gaskets. $12.00
