I have 2 square top Pierburg fuel pumps that I'm rebuilding, however both are missing a brass fuel tube

Has anyone tapped and fitted a 1/8 NPT barbed fuel fitting on these? The fact that the brass tube came off concerns me for it coming off again in the future

Would seem to me that a threaded "port" with a screw in fitting would be a more permanent repair than a press in fitting....

Thats exactly my thoughts too, I would rather tap the port rather than press fit another brass tube

Sometimes 1/8" is too big, but 1/16" isn't.

I used an M8 tap with 1/4” aluminum fuel lines and JIC4 (AN4) connections. Stainless would’ve been better. Switching to braided stainless JIC6 and an elec fuel pump now though.

I have some threaded tubes that look identical to the originals. I have the taps for them as well to tap those holes. Message or email me.

1/16 NPT is spot on! Leaves plenty of meat around the thread too, to resist cracking.

Thanks all for the replies and pictures! I think I'll go for tapping it and using a 1/16th fitting
